Random “Jump Off” Training For Strength & Mostly Preparing For Anytime “&^%#” Happens

Every now and then I like to do, what I’ve labeled as “Jump Off” training. Basically, at some random time of the day, I just pick up something heavy (that I know I can lift safely), and knock out some random sets.

Sometimes, I may just randomly walk out of the house and haul ass up and down some flights of stairs. Meanwhile, I will occasionally jump over the railing, crawl forward & backwards up the stairs, and even find a pipe over the doorway of the stairwell, and bust out some various push ups. Once I get it out of my system, I go back inside, drink some water, and carry on, as if nothing happened.

Why do this, without some type of warm up (as prescribed by every so-called fitness expert)? For the very reason I call this “Jump Off” training. If there is a situation in life, when you have to call on the resources you already have, in order to survive, are you really going to take 5-10 minutes to warm up? Try telling that to the mother, in the storied scenario, who lifts the car off of her pinned child.

Today’s Random Unplanned Lifting:

Kettlebell Clean & Jerk x 32 kg (70#) x AMRAP (as many reps as possible)

How do you prepare for the “Jump Off?” In today’s crazy society, “Jump Off” preparation may be more required than you think. I’m just sayin…..
